Cultural Consulting Project Residency

March 2022

Big thank you to the Ontario Arts Council for awarding me a career development grant in Interpretive Planning and Cultural Consulting. Because of this incredible support, I was able to connect with two wonderful mentors and their teams over the last six months, learn more about the kind of impact I want to make as a cultural worker, and explore new avenues in the museum and publishing sectors. If any BIPOC folks based in Ontario want to know more about this grant or are looking for mentorship in the cultural sector, please reach out. I would love to tell you more about this opportunity.

TAC Writers Grant

October 2021

I’ve been working on a series of essays for the past year. I wanted to acknowledge Toronto Arts Council for giving me the time and space to keep at it. Having this support means I get to continue pursuing the thought tangents, falling down the research hole, indulging in my archive, and coming up with as much nonsense as I do the usable stuff. It’s a real privilege and after a rollercoaster of a year, it’s also a great deal of encouragement. Thank you TAC!

It’s finally here! My flash essay “Instructions for Excited Art Collectors” appears in this collection of 15 essays edited by Joannette van der Veer and designed by Wibke Bramesfeld for Onomatopee Projects. CriticALL! seeks to “break down the often closed circuit of design criticism” to establish “a design criticism for all.”

In the new normal of the global pandemic, we’re imagining alternative ways to present dance artists.
