Just before I left, I had the pleasure of attending the opening of one of my Lord projects, a permanent exhibit revamp of the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame in Parry Sound, with exhibit design by WeatherstonBruer Associates. The new exhibit showcases Bobby’s values in sport, his love of Parry Sound, and celebrating local athletes and community builders in sport. I worked closely with the curator and so many wonderful stakeholders for this project who generously shared their knowledge on Georgian Bay, local history, and Indigenous culture. New features include hands-on interactives, participatory activities, a reflection space for the Seven Grandfather Teachings, and an updated Hall of Fame wall inspired by sports trading cards. The exhibit won the International Sports Heritage Association Award for New Exhibit 2024 and the Canadian Association for Sport Heritage Award for Excellence 2022-23.
